Pixar Putt Play a round with your favorite animated friends from Toy Story, Monsters, Inc.,The Incredibles, and more at this mini golf pop-up at McGregor Square’s Rally Hotel. The interactive Disney- and Pixar-themed putt putt course, which tees off this weekend and will be open through November 27, features 18 whimsical holes and animated obstacles—based on the adventures of classic Pixar characters—at every stop. Caveman Music Festival Couldn’t snag a Phish ticket this weekend? If you’re down to do a little driving, get your music fix at the Caveman Music Festival, the three-day Americana music fest debuting this weekend at the Monument Lake Resort in Weston (three hours south of Denver). Jam to sounds from a lineup of big-name and up-and-coming acts alike, including Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Grace Potter, Jamestown Revival, and others. Cap the weekend off with fishing, hiking, and kayaking adventures on Monument Lake. Sept. 2–5; single-day passes start at $99

Flap Jack Day Enjoy a free, fresh stack of pancakes and other small-town pleasures at Berthoud’s Flap Jack Day—an annual tradition dating back to 1948—where visitors from across the state descend on the Front Range town to indulge in thousands of pancakes, catch up with neighbors, and crown the winner of several contests, including the coveted Flapjack Queen competition. Enjoy the ’50s-themed homage to the festival’s roots with the vintage car show, live rockabilly tunes from the Atomic Drifters, and breakfast-themed beer flights (think: Strawberry Rhubarb Wheat and Cinnamon Roll Brown) from City Star Brewing. Yoga in the Park In need of a release this weekend? Join Movement Yoga instructors in City Park for a beginner yoga class and vinyasa flow for everybody with a special focus on healing and mindfulness for Black and brown yogis. Saturday Night Bazaar at Sloan’s Lake Browse artisan jewelry and decor, tasty foodstuffs, and plenty of other goods from dozens of Colorado makers at this open-air market flanking Sloan’s Lake. Hit the courtyard for a bite from one of the local food trucks, and grab a craft cocktail or hard kombucha from the pop-up bar to sip as you stroll. Sept. 3; 4–8 p.m.; free

Rocky Mountain Bonsai Society Show Learn the ancient art of Bonsai—the horticultural artistic practice of training and growing ornamental trees as living sculptures—from experts at the 53rd annual show hosted by the Rocky Mountain Bonsai Society. Watch demos, get explainers on stone and plant pairings, and stroll the Denver Botanic Gardens to view more than 100 bonsai, kusamono, and suiseki creations by Bonsai Society members.
