So many live music memories being made in Huntsville these days. Between Orion Amphitheater and Mars Music Hall, the city’s music fans get to see elite artists more often and even some stars who’ve never performed here before.
Music memories can get louder over time. Especially if they went down somewhere that no longer has live music or is now gone completely. Amplified by nostalgia.
Below are 12 places concerts and shows used to go down in Huntsville. For the purposes of this list, we focused on venues that (at least sometimes) hosted well-known touring acts, as opposed to bygone all-local band spots, which of course are rad too.
During its ‘80s and ‘90s baseball prime, Joe Davis Stadium, currently being converted for minor league soccer, also occasionally hosted concerts. Acts ranged from country stars Willie Nelson and Tanya Tucker to rockers like Bad Company and Ted Nugent.
